Founding Pastor

Pastor David Wong and his wife, Nancy, started Washington International Church in 1991.Pastor Wong was born and raised in the Philippines of Chinese parentage. After coming to the United States forty years ago, he committed his life to serving the Lord. Dr. Wong has a business degree and was engaged in advertising and banking when God called him into full-time Gospel ministry. He received his Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California and earned a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.

Pastor David Wong and his wife, Nancy are church planters at heart. They have also planted churches in Illinois and Maryland. Nancy is an award-winning public school teacher, and is known to many of the congregation as “Mama Wong.” The Wongs enjoy very close fellowship with their two married children and their three grandchildren. Pastor Wong retired on March 25, 2012 after serving 21 years at Washington International Church.
